LGBTQIA+

A person's gender identity may be the same as or different from their birth-assigned sex.


Gender expression is how a person publicly expresses or presents their gender. This can include behavior and outward appearance such as dress, hair, make-up, body language, and voice.

In the session we will:

  • Explore the different definitions and terminology of the LGBTQIA+ domain

  • Understand the case for gender expression and why it matters at work

  • Reflect on what are some of the key perception / social norm factors that impact gender identity inclusion/exclusion

  • Get exposure to the challenges of the LGBTQIA+ community and how to be an effective ally

You will leave the session:

  • Educated about the different identities and variety of expressions in the LGBTQIA+ domain

  • Clear about the importance of dialogue with community members

  • Demonstrate authentic allyship with a focus on LGBTQIA+

  • Equipped with an applicable toolkit and resource list

Format and duration:

  • 90 minutes keynote

  • 3 hours interactive workshop
